රාවණා පුවත සම්බන්ධයෙන් පර්යේෂණයක් පැවැත්වීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන බව කැලණිය විශ්ව විද්යාලයේ පුරාවිද්යා පශ්චාත් උපාධි ආයතනයේ මහාචාර්ය රාජ් සෝමදේව මහතා පැවැසීය.
මේ වනවිට රාවණා පිළිබඳ ව සාහිත්ය විමර්ශනයක් සිදු කරමින් පවතින බවත් රාවණා පුවතට යථාර්ථවාදී පසුබිමක් තිබෙන බව ඒ ඇසුරින් පැහැදිලි වූ බවත් මහාචාර්යවරයා සඳහන් කළේ ය.
සාහිත්ය විමර්ශනයෙන් අනතුරුව ‘රාවණා’ පුවත හා සම්බන්ධ ප්රදේශවලට ගොස් තොරතුරු එක්රැස් කිරීමට බලාපොරොත්තු වන බව ද හෙතෙම වැඩිදුරටත් පැවැසීය.

Ramayana is one of the two great Indian epics and is considered a sacred text by Hindus.
There is no one text called the Ramayana but many of them.
The well-known is the one composed by Valmiki.
Valmiki used an earlier Ramayana, perhaps several of them, as the basis of his own great work.

Dasaratha Jataka identifiable as a version of the Ramayana, where Dasaratha considered as Rama’s father.
